D·E·J Night Face Cream® 0.5 oz

The DEJ is the Dermal-Epidermal Junction. It is the basement membrane where the dermis and epidermis meet that helps support the skin’s structure. As we age, key proteins break down in this area increasing the visible signs of aging. During youth, this junction is very “wavy”. With age, this junction flattens and skin becomes more slackened. It’s a key area for skin cell communication and cohesion. Research has shown that addressing the health of the DEJ greatly affects the outward appearance of the skin.

The time-released 0.25% Retinol helps to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and improves the appearance of skin texture. Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2 and Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14 help increase the synthesis of Collagen IV, Fibronectin and Elastin in the DEJ. Rhamnose and Silanetriol help stimulate the production of multiple DEJ proteins, including Collagen IV, Collagen VII, and Laminin-5. Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract helps increase the synthesis of Collagen I, III and IV and Elastin and reinforces dermal-epidermal structural integrity, elasticity and firmness. Tetrahexyldecyl (THD) Ascorbate also helps to enhance the DEJ to promote skin firmness and brighten skin. These ingredients together help improve the DEJ to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, redensify skin, and firm and lift the skin.

Bakuchiol is a broad-spectrum antioxidant obtained from the seeds of the Psoralea corylifolia (Babchi) plant which is a plant native to India and has been used for many years in Ayurvedic medicine. It is an advanced ingredient that when combined with time-released Retinol, helps to stabilize it and boost its efficacy while minimizing dryness and irritation associated with its usage. While Bakuchiol is used in many products as a replacement for Retinol, Revision Skincare® is one of the first to use this ingredient in combination with Retinol to boost its efficacy resulting in the most optimal anti-aging benefits.

There are several ingredients combined that help minimize irritation and therefore assist in improving the tolerability of a formula with Retinol. This formula utilizes time-released 0.25% Retinol which allows for a slow release to optimize efficacy and minimize irritation. Bakuchiol plus additional antioxidants like Vitamin E, Ursolic Acid and Barley Extract and intensive moisturizers such as the Lipid Technology, Hyaluronic Acid, Sunflower Seed Oil Unsaponifiables and Squalane all help to enhance hydration and minimize dryness and irritation. Lipid Technology is a blend containing ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids that help restore the skin’s natural moisture barrier and enhance overall skin health.

Yes. However, if using both products, it is recommended that tolerability is developed for one of the products before beginning the 2nd product. Both products used alone or together can be used every other day or every third day if necessary until tolerated. If you experience redness, irritation or excessive dryness, reduce usage frequency. Retinol may cause some skin types to peel initially. For specific usage of these two products, you can apply the Retinol Complete® first, and then layer the D·E·J Night Face Cream® over it. Or, you could mix 1 pump of each together and then apply all at once.
