• What is the D·E·J? The D·E·J is the Dermal-Epidermal Junction. It is the basement membrane where the dermis and epidermis meet that helps support the skin’s structure. As we age, key proteins break down in this area increasing the visible signs of aging. During youth, this junction is very “wavy”. With age, this junction flattens and skin becomes more slackened. It’s a key area for skin cell communication and cohesion. Research has shown that addressing the health of the DEJ greatly affects the outward appearance of the skin.
• What are the key ingredients that target the D·E·J in these products? The following ingredients together help improve the D·E·J to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, redensify skin, firm and lift the face and eye area.
  
  In D·E·J Face Cream® and D·E·J Night Face Cream®, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2 and Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14 help increase the synthesis of Collagen IV, Fibronectin and Elastin in the D·E·J to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and restore density.
  
  In D·E·J Eye Cream®, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 boosts the production of Collagen I and Collagen III, and provides a more firm and lifted appearance. In all three products, Rhamnose and Silanetriol help stimulate the production of multiple D·E·J proteins, including Collagen IV, Collagen VII, and Laminin-5. Furthermore, these ingredients, when combined, have been shown to improve a thin and flat D·E·J to resemble that of youthful skin with a wider and wavier D·E·J. Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract helps increase the synthesis of Collagen IV and reinforces dermal-epidermal structural integrity and cohesion. It also increases synthesis of Collagen I, III, and Elastin to help improve crow’s feet elasticity and firmness. Tetrahexyldecyl (THD) Ascorbate also helps to enhance the D·E·J to promote skin firmness and brighten skin.
  
  In D·E·J Night Face Cream®, The time-released 0.25% Retinol helps to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and improves the appearance of skin texture.
• How does the D.E.J family of products help the skin’s Microbiome? Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, a prebiotic, selectively supports the growth of healthy organisms which helps balance and support diversity on the skin’s Microbiome to promote overall skin health. Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract is also a postbiotic that supports the skin’s mircobiome.
• Can I use these products with Revox™ Line Relaxer? These are excellent products to use with Revox™ Line Relaxer as they work synergistically together to improve the appearance of the total eye area and fine lines on the face. Use Revox™ Line Relaxer as your base treatment after cleansing for all expression lines on the face and periorbital area including forehead lines, glabellar lines, the periorbital area, nasolabial folds and perioral lines. This product will help with fine lines and wrinkles, under-eye crepiness, skin texture, elasticity and radiance.
  
  D·E·J Eye Cream® is a treatment and moisturizer in one and should be applied after Revox™ Line Relaxer and can also be used on the eyelid area for drooping or hooded eyelids. This product will help with fine lines and wrinkles, under-eye crepiness, skin texture, elasticity and radiance. D·E·J Face Cream® is an intensive, antioxidant-rich moisturizer that should be applied after Revox™ Line Relaxer and before sunscreen. This product will help with fine lines and wrinkles, firming and plumping thinning, sagging skin, improving overall photodamage and reducing TEWL while replenishing skin’s natural moisture barrier. Using D·E·J Night Face Cream® with Revox™ Line Relaxer provides advanced results through incorporating time-released 0.25% Retinol and plant-based Bakuchiol in a hydrating, antioxidant-rich formula that minimizes irritation. All products provide additional ingredients that target the dermal-epidermal junction to firm, lift and smooth the skin, shield skin from free radicals and provide moisture while biomimicking skin’s natural lipid production.
  
  Using all of these products together combine multiple pathways to reach optimal results for reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improving the visible signs of aging in the total eye area.
• Can D·E·J Night Face Cream® be used with Retinol Complete? Yes. However, if using both products, it is recommended that tolerability is developed for one of the products before beginning the 2nd product. Both products used alone or together can be used every other day or every third day if necessary until tolerated. If you experience redness, irritation or excessive dryness, reduce usage frequency. Retinol may cause some skin types to peel initially. For specific usage of these two products, you can apply the Retinol Complete® first, and then layer the D·E·J Night Face cream® over it. Or, you could mix 1 pump of each together and then apply all at once.
• Can I use D·E·J Eye Cream® with Teamine Eye Complex? This product is not recommended to be layered with Teamine® Eye Complex and shouldn’t need to be given the main benefits of each product. If the main concern is dark under-eye circles and puffiness, Teamine® Eye Complex should be used. If the main concern is visible signs of aging around the total eye area including the eyelids then D·E·J Eye Cream® should be used. Teamine® Eye Complex should also never be used on the eyelids. Both products should be used as directed for 12 weeks for optimal results.
• Will D·E·J Eye Cream® irritate my eyes? An in vitro study was conducted to examine the potential of D·E·J Eye Cream® causing irritation using a reconstructed corneal epithelium. This product was not shown to cause irritation to the eye and there was no statistically significant change in tolerability parameters including edema, burning or stinging.

• What is the difference between Sunflower Sprout Extract in D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™, and Sunflower Seed Oil Unsaponifiables in D.E.J Face Cream®? Sunflower Sprout Extract is a patented ingredient in D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™ which is the result of germinating sunflower seeds in a controlled environment and harvesting the sprout at a specific point in time. The specific process captures the benefits of the sprout at its most efficacious point in time, to deliver energy-boosting results to help slow cellular aging. Sunflower Seed Oil Unsaponifiables are included in D.E.J Face Cream® as part of its Hydrating Blend. It is a key ingredient that provides intense moisture, helps replenish lipid production, and reinforces the skin’s barrier function to increase the skin’s ability to attract and retain moisture.
• Does D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™ contain the DEJ Targeting Blend? D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™ does not contain the DEJ Targeting Blend, but it is clinically proven to increase proteins critical to the integrity of a healthy DEJ, such as Collagen IV. This serum was intentionally formulated with specific ingredients to achieve age-defying results through multiple pathways, as well as to provide benefits that were differentiated from the rest of the D.E.J® family of products. This gives D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™ a specific reason for existing within the D.E.J® Regimen since it provides not only unique benefits but also complements the benefits of the system as a whole.
• What are some ideal in-office procedures to pair with D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™? D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™ helps optimize skin health and can be used in the weeks prior to a non-surgical procedure in order to achieve better procedural outcomes on healthier skin. • If D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™ can be used on the total eye area, do I still need to use an eye cream? Do I need Revox™ Line Relaxer if I am using D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™ and D.E.J Eye Cream®? While all these products deliver results in the eye area, the benefits vary from product to product depending on how they were formulated, in addition to each product having its differentiating key benefits. Since the eye area has the most fragile skin on the face, it can benefit from using multiple products that are formulated to deliver results in different ways.

• Is Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 the same ingredient used in Revox™ Line Relaxer? No. While Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 is listed as an ingredient for both D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™ and Revox™ Line Relaxer, they are different molecules. “Acetyl Hexapeptide-1” is the name given to both ingredients following a standardized naming convention, but they are structurally different and provide different benefits.
  In Revox™ Line Relaxer, Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 is part of a neuromodulating peptide blend that helps mitigate the release of acetylcholine from the keratinocyte, which helps reduce its dissemination throughout the facial skin ultimately reducing the intensity of expression lines.
  In D.E.J Daily Boosting Serum™, Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 targets three mechanisms of melanogenesis at the keratinocytes, melanocytes, and fibroblasts. This helps to reduce new melanin and fade existing melanin, as well as improve luminosity and produce glowing skin.
