Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between physical, chemical and enzymatic exfoliants?
-
Physical, chemical, and enzymatic exfoliants each work differently to remove skin dead skin cells, including those within pores, and remove surface debris to reveal fresh, smooth skin: Physical exfoliants use small particles to manually buff away dead skin cells on the surface, giving an immediate smoothing effect. Chemical exfoliants (such as AHAs and BHAs) penetrate deeper, dissolving bonds between dead cells to enhance clarity and even out skin tone. Enzymatic exfoliants are derived from natural enzymes that gently break down dead skin cells offering a milder option for effective exfoliation. Together, these methods deliver a comprehensive exfoliation experience, addressing multiple layers and needs of the skin.
I get procedures at my doctor’s office. Will this product enhance the effects?
-
Yes, this product can enhance the effects of in-office treatments like dermaplaning. Its blend of physical, chemical, and enzymatic exfoliants helps maintain smooth, clear skin between appointments by gently removing buildup and surface impurities. Using this product as part of your routine can help extend the benefits of professional treatments, keeping your skin polished and radiant. If you are getting treatments that disrupt the skin barrier, such as microneedling or a chemical peel, we recommend waiting 5-7 days post procedure until you use the Triple-Action Exfoliator or as directed by your provider.
Is this product safe to use with other products that have AHA/BHA in it?
-
Although we have not tested this product with other AHA/BHA cleansers we believe that the product will not be negated. Tolerability is highly dependent on the patient’s facial condition and recommend that they consult their aesthetician or HCP.
Is this product designed to use on active breakouts?
-
Revision’s philosophy is to focus on long-term skin health. We do not recommend using the Triple-Action Exfoliator on active breakouts, however there are several products in the portfolio that can be used on active breakouts such as Brightening Facial Wash and Papaya Enzyme Cleanser. Please consult with your HCP for specific product recommendations based on your skin concern.
Are the physical exfoliants used in this environmentally friendly?
-
